Trump’s physician stated on Saturday 3 October 2020 that Trump’s condition had improved but he was ‘not yet out of the woods’. According to a source familiar with Trump’s health thus far, the next 48 hours would be critical in determining the trajectory of his illness.

The president is required to be self-isolated for at least ten days (this begun on 1 October). This implies that he may still be able to attend and be part of the presidential debate on the 15 October. However, his condition may deter his ability to campaign.

In the event that he does not recover or rather becomes too ill to run the state, he is allowed, according to the 25th amendment to hand over the power to the vice president Mike Pence. In the event that Pence becomes ill too, Nancy Pelosi; speaker of the House of Representatives would have to take over.

While rumor has it that fans can now return to stadiums, it appears as though such may be delayed for another six months in order to avoid a second wave of COVID infections.
